#1 do ink green screen~hands down my Favorite
Green Screen by Do Ink makes it easy to create incredible green screen videos and photos. Classroom-tested by kids and teachers, this app emphasizes ease-of-use and simplicity while still enabling fantastic results. With Green Screen by Do Ink, you can tell a story, explain an idea, and express yourself in truly creative and unique ways.
You know what a "green screen" effect is, right? It's used in the movies to make it look like the actors have landed on an alien planet, and it's used on TV to make it look like your local news announcer is standing in front of a weather map. The green screen effect works by combining images from multiple sources into a single video. These images can come from photos or videos in your camera roll, or from the live video camera.
#2 faces i make app
I can't say enough how much I LOVE this app! It taps into creativity like no other! I first used this app when teaching similes with my students. The app stems from the author Hanoch Piven, author of My Dog is as Smelly as Dirty Socks and My Best Friend is as Sharp as a Pencil. Download the Simile Mini Lesson I did with my class below. Then integrate the Faces I Make app for their creations! On Meet the Teacher Night one year, we did this lesson and parents had to figure out which one was their child based on the visual and written descriptions of their child with similes integrated.

#3 don't let the pigeon run this app!
If you are a fan of Mo Willems or looking for ways to engage students with persuasive writing, then Don't Let the Pigeon Run This App is just what you need! Young students can work with the bus driver to create their own Pigeon story and even learn to draw the Pigeon himself from the author!
Try and "App Smash" (combine two apps together for a creative project) this app with either Chatterpix to make your Pigeon talk or use iMovie to create a full story on the pigeon! |
