When introducing students to phrasing and expression consider what they love.. movies, which are designed to entertain them at their age level.
Print out lines from famous movies and have students practice reading them with expression. Do not tell them what movie they come from, just random lines.
Then play the clips below which are the behind the scenes in the recording studio when the actors recorded their lines. They will LOVE this.. Being able to see the expression and phrasing modeled for them by the characters they have grown to love is perfect for an engaged lesson.
